# Get started

This guide takes you from install to your first finished task. You'll set up the Mac app, meet Simeon, hire your first agent and review its work.

## Before you begin

You need a Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 15 or later. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, so you can try Simeon before you pay; see [Plans and billing](/docs/billing).

## 1. Install the Mac app

[Download Simeon for macOS](https://api.simeonlabs.com/desktop/download/mac), open the file and drag Simeon into Applications. Then open it from Applications or Spotlight.

## 2. Sign in

Choose **Continue with Google**, **Continue with Apple**, or sign in with your email and the code we send you. The same account works on the Mac and on iPhone.

The app then sets up your agents' cloud computer and asks what your agents should call you. You can change your name later in **Settings › Account**.

## 3. Meet Simeon

Simeon is your chief of staff. He introduces himself, then asks what you'd hand to a person if you hired one today. Answer in a sentence; he hires the right agent for it, with a name, a face, a job title and a brief.

If you're not sure, ask him what he recommends. For a bigger project he proposes a small team, three agents at most to start.

## 4. Give it a first task

Open the new agent's chat and type, or dictate. A strong request says what you want, which sources matter, what you want back, and where the agent should stop and check with you. For example:

> Find the five accounts we haven't heard from in a month, draft a short check-in for each in my voice, and show me the drafts before anything is sent.

## 5. Connect the apps it needs

When the agent needs one of your apps, it shows a **Connect** card in the chat. Choose **Connect**, sign in on the app's own page, and you're done; the agent picks up where it left off. You can also connect apps ahead of time; see [Connect apps](/docs/connectors).

## 6. Review the result and make it stick

Check what the agent did, correct it, and tell it what to remember, like a report format or the hours you keep for meetings. When a task works well, turn it into a [routine](/docs/routines) so it runs on its own.

The iPhone app connects to the same agents, chats and computers. Sign in with the same account to message your agents, call them, approve their requests and watch their computers. See [Simeon for iPhone](/docs/iphone).
